Anesthesia Policy

If you are having a procedure under IV general anesthesia or Mild/Moderate/Deep Sedation (IV Sedation), a responsible and able bodied adult (over the age of 18) that you know and trust must be available at the end of your procedure. Your escort will be called into the recovery room to be with you and to listen and assist with post-operative instructions along side you. This person is responsible to safely escort you home after your discharge from the office.

Anesthesia appointments require a fixed time for your pre-op and post-op recovery in addition to your procedure. It is very important that you arrive on time.  Late arrival and check -in may result in the need to reschedule your surgery.  No anesthesia-assisted procedure will begin without the presence of your escort at the time of check in. Failure to have an escort present will result in an appointment cancellation and rescheduling.



It is extremely important for your safety that you have nothing to eat or drink for a full 8 hours prior to the time of your scheduled appointment. Failure to comply with the fasting requirements or anesthesia will also result in cancellation and rescheduling of your procedure.
